The highly successfully Contract Study Group has returned for a second year.
Lawyers from ASA’s Attorneys Council are again facilitating group discussions on
key subcontract provisions.The Contract Study Group in 2011-2012 is taking an in depth look
at the AIA A401-2007 Subcontract.
Over the course of the five sessions, the group will go through a provision-by-provision
review of the AIA Subcontract. The AIA provisions will be compared and contrasted to
more restrictive and troubling language sometimes used by general contractors.
Differences between the AIA A401-2007 and the
ASA-endorsed ConsensusDocs 750 Subcontract will also be examined.

Provisions to be reviewed and discussed this month include:

* Termination, Suspension or Assignment of the Subcontract

 * Work to be Performed

* Date of Commencement and Substantial Completion
